well, today's DNA thingy was kinda fun. a little gross. but still fun. x) too bad Miss Tang missed it. lols. she was supposed to be here today but cos she needed to take test, our class was taken charge of by Mr Foo. he's ok lah.

anyways, back to the topic. i was ALMOST LATE. lols. i was supposed to meet kx and hweejoo at CP at 8.30 AM. but i only alighted from bus 88 at 8.29AM near the rivervale mall! i waited n waited la. hoping the 161 would come or something. but it was like 8.45 le and there was still no 161 lo. so i told kx and hweejoo dont wait for me. dont want them to b late. well, i wasnt late though. i was EARLY. by 3 mins only lah. but still, 3 mins is still EARLY. xD

we started off with mr ong addressing us. then there was this talk thingy on DNA and cells. we did a worksheet and when the presentation finished we could go for break. the teacher talking to us was my cca teacher. den i told kx is Miss NEO. den she last time say is Mdm YEO. den i tell her is Miss Neo lah. she dont believe. den today before the teacher started talking, she intro herself. she said she was MISS NEO. yay! i told you kx!

den we had hands on! wee~ we extracted some DNA from fruits. 3 to choose from. Kiwi, Banana or Strawberry. two ppl partner and choose one kind of fruit. at first, me n kx wanted kiwi. but jun min want so let her have it. we took the strawberry instead. we had to pound the fruit and stuff. the smell of the strawberry was very nice, before we added the detergent i mean. however, in the end, kx and i didnt see anything. no DNA, nothing. it was just the cold ethanol and the filtrate of the fruit.

and the 2nd DNA we extracted was cheek cells. MY cheek cells to be exact. between me and kx, no one wanted to volunteer their cheek cells. so we played scissors-paper-stone! xD the winner could choose whose cheek cells we were gonna use. at first i lost. i was like so reluctant to 'part with my cheek cells' so kx say play again. TOO BAD! i lost AGAIN! no choice but to 'surrender' my cheek cells.

it was damn gross lo. we were supposed to rinse our mouths with tap water den get some mineral water to gurgle so our cheek cells could like be in the water or sth. eww. den we must SPIT out the water. EWW-ER! yucky. anyways, we did lots of things to the mixture[my saliva + mineral water] and we ended up having a VERY VERY short DNA thing. my cheek cells too little?? xD

it was fun though. miss pey took photos. she said it was her turn to have revenge. x) lols. fortunately, she didnt take me. she took corliss and yenling though. xD
